German soldiers after 1945 could recognize what it really meant to be POW's. Especially in Torun, where Germans were captured by the Soviet army. During first months of 1945 Soviets and Poles captured German soldiers and civilians in Fort XV. The Soviet camp was in Glinki. From letters and relations of witnesses we know that the conditions there were very hard. Mostly soldiers and civilians had to work in farms or in the city. In september 1947 after trials POW's camp for Germans were definitively dissolved. Many of them went back home but the rest were moved to other camps.
